CAIRO - 19 April 2022: The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) issued an operating Digital Signature permit for El Delta Electronic Systems, through ITIDA’s E-Signature Root CA Licensing Department, to provide digital signature services in Egypt.
El Delta Electronic Systems, the Egyptian multiple-services provider, was granted the digital signature operating permit on the 17th of April, 2022, for 3 years, after fulfilling the technical conditions and specifications stated in the terms of awarding licenses to provide digital signature services agreement No. 1 of 2021.
The licensed company is entitled to offer a variety of services including providing registration services, issuing digital signature certificates, digital signature tools, Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) services, E-seal and time-stamp services for both individuals and businesses, through its extensive network of service outlets, and its partnership with "Telecom Egypt", following the regulations and standards set by ITIDA.
El-Delta Electronic Systems stands behind implementing many successful DX projects, such as the Automation of Electronic Tax Invoice System, e-Examinations applied in the Egyptian universities, and the infrastructure upgrade in university hospitals. The company applies international standards of information security and services quality in cooperation with global consultants.
ITIDA aims to expand and put the digital signature services in full practice across Egypt; targeting linking government services to the private and civil sectors. Additionally, ITIDA also aims to facilitate digital transformation efforts, meeting the strategic objectives of MCIT's Digital Egypt strategy.
It is worth noting that the executive regulations of the digital signature law were amended under the decision of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology No. 361 of 2020, to accelerate Egypt’s digital transformation adoption; and the central role of digital signature in developing the efficiency of administrative work; and improving the government services, and adding to Egypt’s competitiveness globally.

The digital signature law, issued in 2004, and upon which ITIDA was established, supports Egypt’s e-commerce industry by securing the internet as a legally viable medium for digital transactions and aims to support digital transformation in all state sectors.
